Merck Window Technologies develops, manufactures and sells dynamic glazing solutions eyrise™ based on Liquid Crystal Windows. LC Windows can change their transmission with the switch of a button, providing control over light and heat entering a building and bringing comfort and privacy to the users. Merck’s switchable materials are the core of these switchable windows. Merck Window Technologies provides dynamic glazing solutions to key users for applications in architecture worldwide.
We are looking for an electrical engineer to join our development team.
Your role
As an Electronical Engineer, you are responsible for the development and realization of the control systems for LC windows. You provide solutions aligned with customers and market expectations, from remote controller up to solutions that can be integrated into intelligent building management systems.
You will work closely together with M&S, R&D, Engineering and external supplier(s). Your activities and responsibilities include:
o Design standalone control solutions aligned with market requirements
o Develop solutions to interface BMS (building management systems) with our products
o Realization of control systems with external electrical component makers
o Provide technical specifications for standalone and BMS systems
o Act as the expert for controls, electrical, and BMS within the team
o Supervision of externals suppliers
Who you are
o You have a technical background (BSc, MSc or PhD) preferred in electronics engineering , at least 5 years working experience in development of controls and BMS up to printed circuit board level . You are solution driven, pragmatic, curious and hands-on. Your experience and skills include:
o A background in electronics engineering or related field
o Experience in development of building management systems and protocols, eg KNX
o Experience in management of suppliers
o Ability to communicate on technical topics with other departments and external partners
o Language skills: fluent in English. Dutch and German are of added value
o Technical documentation and technical drawing skills
