The Merck Biotech Development Center represents an investment of more than 250 million euros which aims to contribute to speed up the availability of new medicines for patients with unmet medical needs, in particular in the area of cancer. This new site also confirms Switzerland – and most particularly the Lake Geneva area – as Merck’s prime hub for the manufacturing and development of biotech medicines for patients from all over the world. To meet the requirements for sustainability, manage energy efficiency and optimize the use of natural daylight, the BDC will benefit from the unique innovative technology of eyrise® dynamic liquid crystal glazing. The dynamic glass used is eyrise®s350 instant solar shading for the façade and eyrise® i350 transparent privacy glazing for the interiors.
